Pick up from your hotel in Amman. You will see the magnificent Roman Theatre; the theatre was
built during the reign of Antonius Pius (138-161 CE) and could seat about 6000 people. Visit the
Citadel and its Temple of Hercules that was built between 162 – 166 AD, the Umayyad Palace and
the Archaeological and Folklore museums. Afterwards, you will enjoy a walk through the old city
called “West Al Balad”. It has hundreds of shops, coffee shops and local restaurants. There are also
a number of excellent shops selling beautiful traditional handicrafts, such as hand-woven rugs and
cushions, pottery, and embroidered items, many of which now come in contemporary designs.
Wherever you shop, dont be surprised if the shopkeeper offers you a cup of coffee while you decide
on your purchase – it’s all part of the friendly, Jordanian shopping experience. Upon completion transfer back to your hotel in Amman.
